Manufacturing Process Explained

At REL INDIA, our manufacturing processes are designed to deliver consistent quality, high performance, and sustainability in every wire product. Each stage is carefully controlled to ensure precision, durability, and customer satisfaction.

Pickling

Pickling is a chemical cleaning process where the wire surface is treated with acid solutions (typically sulfuric or hydrochloric acid) to remove oxides, scale, and impurities formed during wire drawing and annealing.
✅ Ensures a clean surface for uniform coating adhesion
✅ Prevents corrosion and surface defects

Annealing

Annealing is a controlled heat treatment process that softens the wire by heating it to a specific temperature and then cooling it.
✅ Relieves internal stresses from wire drawing
✅ Improves ductility and formability
✅ Retains mechanical strength

Wire Drawing with Poka-Yoke Systems

Wire drawing reduces the diameter of rods by pulling them through a series of precision dies. At REL INDIA, our machines are equipped with poka-yoke (error-proofing) systems.
✅ Detects wire breaks, die wear, or incorrect diameter automatically
✅ Ensures consistent quality and prevents defects
✅ Minimizes downtime for higher efficiency

Phosphating & Lime Surface Treatment

This is a combined surface preparation process applied before further drawing or finishing.
Phosphating: Forms a thin crystalline phosphate layer on the wire surface.
Reduces friction during drawing
Improves coating adhesion
Provides temporary corrosion protection

Lime Coating
: Applied after phosphating as a lubricant carrier.
Enhances drawability
Reduces tool wear
Ensures dimensional accuracy

Together, phosphating and lime treatment create a robust surface system that ensures superior product performance.

Our Commitment to Quality

Our wires undergo rigorous testing for:

Tensile strength and elongation

Surface finish and cleanliness

Dimensional accuracy

Chemical composition compliance. This ensures reliable, high-performance wires suitable for manufacturing fasteners and precision components.
